are we a good fit?

You value high quality craftsmanship and products.

You believe the experience is equally as important as the result.
We primarily take on projects where we can oversee both the design and build phases of a remodel project. However there are certain scenarios where we have exclusively done design work for clients. We’ve collaborated with homeowners and builders on custom new homes, whole house remodels and building redevelopment projects. If you have a specific project in mind where you think our design services would be valuable to you, please visit our contact page and we can discuss how that type of arrangement could work.
This question usually comes up when the homeowner has a tradesperson they've worked with before and often times has already done work for them in their home. Though it is not our preference because of quality control and scheduling considerations, we do occasionally accommodate this arrangement. Additionally, we reserve this type of arrangement for trade professionals who have experience working in remodel.
One of the biggest challenges in planning a remodel is establishing a cost to do the project. We do begin our process by establishing a budget estimate based on the initial scope of work proposed. As we develop the design and scope, firm pricing follows. See the process tab for more details.

Requirements for permits and inspections vary across municipalities. If your project requires permits we follow the guidelines set in place by your municipality and apply for all required permits and complete all required inspections.
The time it takes to complete a remodel project depends on the scope of the project. Since many elements of our remodels tend to be custom (cabinetry, countertops, flooring, etc…), we spend more time in the planning and design phases to get all the details approved. Then manufacturing can take a few months. It’s not uncommon for us to be developing a design with homeowners over a period of months before scheduling any site work. The site work could then be another couple of weeks to a couple of months. Overall we spend anywhere from 6 months to 18 months on a project. Spending this much time with clients has fostered wonderful ongoing relationships with homeowners!
Many times as we approach the time for site work to begin homeowners will want to adjust the scope of their project to include additional work in other areas of their home. Things like additional painting, flooring, plumbing or electrical work. We handle these changes of scope by creating a change order for the homeowner to approve. Once approved we can proceed with supplying and scheduling the additional work. We do our best to avoid surprises when remodeling, but the truth is there is always a chance something unexpected will arise. When this happens we bring it to the homeowners attention and present possible solutions to move forward. Rest assured we will not ignore an issue and cover it up to be discovered later.
